Update II of V — Mortality Refused
Everything I write, I craft with layered intent —
some to be understood by readers,
some for those who know me,
and all for Her.
The beauty of literature is that every piece of the written puzzle can be true at once,
while still meaning the most to those it was written for.
My hope is that she will one day soon read my work,
yet I am resolved that I may go unnoticed.
This begs the question — is it worth it?
I have been blessed with one life,
one moment to be seen,
to move on this earth with intention and power.
True power is recognizing one’s own limitations,
and breaking them into pieces
to achieve what was once thought impossible.
To me, it is worth the time —
the ink to page,
the read and reread,
the arduous process of preparing to publish.
Because no matter what,
the words will stand —
an eternal monument of my intention,
unapologetically raw,
unmovable,
mortality refusing the cards dealt by my own hand —
the power of written intent,
carrying emotional weight behind every syllable,
and breathing through the curve of every letter.
